My Lord',

Part 9 DEC 09
Government House,
Hongkong, 3rd November, 1909.
I have the honour to inform Your Lordship
that an area known as Shaukiwan Inland Lot No. 407 was sold to
Mr. Li Ping on the 16th September, 1907 for $6,400, upon the
conditions gazetted in Government Notification No.600 of 1907,
one of which was that the whole area of the lot should be re-
claimed within twelve months of the date of sale.
It now
appears from a report of the Acting Director of Public Works
dated the Elst ultimo that for the purpose of reclaiming the
lot it would be necessary to build a sea wall over 50 feet
high at an estimate cost of $20,000, whereas it was only
stipulated that $3,000 should be spent by the purchaser of the
lot in rateable improvements.
2. In these circumstances I submit for Your
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
THE EARL OF CREWE,
